Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Which vehicle is right for me?

A. There are a variety of options available and you can find more information on the different types of vehicle and fuel types here.

Q. Is insurance included in the leasing price?

A. Insurance is not included, because every customer is different; ie age, area etc, therefore it is difficult to cost insurance in with the lease price. All lease vehicles must be insured fully comprehensively.

 Q. Can you explain 3+23 for a 2 year contract or 3+35 on a 3 year vehicle leasing agreement?

A. Vehicle leasing deals are usually taken over a 2 or 3 year term. Deals are advertised as 3+23 or 3+35 contracts. The ‘3’ stands for 3 rental payments in advance (known as initial rental payment), then +23 or +35 equates to the quantity of payments you will pay throughout the contract term. You will also see deals advertised for comparison on different payments profiles, for example 6+23 and 6+35; this allows our customers to see other options available. Some customers prefer to pay a higher payment at the front of the lease, which in turn reduces the monthly rental amount for the balance of the contract.

Q. When will I need to pay the initial rental payment?

A. Most initial rental payments are collected by the finance company within 10 days of vehicle delivery. In a very small number of cases, the supplying dealer will request this payment on behalf of the finance company prior to delivery and where this is the case you will be notified well in advance.

Q. Do I need to complete a MOT for my lease vehicle?

A. A MOT is required on any vehicle after a three year period from first registration.

Q. Who owns the vehicle?

A. On both ‘business contract hire’ and ‘personal contract hire’ the finance company are the legal owner and keeper of the vehicle on the V5 document. This must be disclosed to your insurance company from the outset. If you require further clarity on this question, please call one of our team and they will be happy to explain in more detail.

Q. Is there an option to own the vehicle?

A. No. When the contract expires you simply return the vehicle to the finance company and take up a new lease vehicle, should you choose. (We will contact you prior to the end of your contract to help search for your new vehicle).

Q. What happens if I exceed the annual mileage on the lease contract?

A. Every lease vehicle contract gives an ‘excess mileage’ price, therefore should you exceed your agreed total mileage, any additional mileage would be charged at this rate. EG: Excess pence per mileage rate = 8p. 1000 miles over the total contract mileage would be charged at £80.00 +VAT = £96.00. The finance company will invoice you after your lease vehicle is returned.

Q. Are all lease vehicles brand new with no previous owners?

A. 99% of leasing offers are on brand new vehicles, however some finance companies will process leasing contracts on vehicles up to 12 months old. All of the leasing deals on our website are either brand new or pre-registered (delivery mileage only) UK vehicles, supplied via UK main dealerships.

Q. Is Road Tax included in the leasing price?

A. Road fund licence is included for the full contract duration on 99% of deals. Please check the details associated with your deal of interest to ensure this is the case.

Q. Are lease vehicles covered by any form of warranty?

A. All lease vehicles come with the standard warranty supplied by the vehicle manufacturer.

Q. What is maintenance?

A. You can opt to include what is called a ‘maintenance package’ in with the price of your lease. This generally covers you for your annual vehicle service, tyres and any wear and tear items which need replacing (excluding damage). Please check the full content of the package with the provider, as some maintenance packages have varying levels of cover.

Q. Are there any administration fees?

A. We will charge a non-refundable processing fee once you have placed your order. Please check your quotation paperwork and ask your contact if you are unsure.

Q. Is delivery included in the leasing price?

A. The majority of lease vehicles include delivery to a UK mainland address which can be your home or workplace. The vehicle will usually be driven to your delivery address and the mileage incurred may be included as your usage.

Q. What is fair wear and tear?

A. Fair wear and tear occurs when normal usage causes deterioration to a vehicle. It is not to be confused with damage, which occurs as a result of a specific event or series of events such as impact, inappropriate stowing of items, harsh-treatment, negligent acts or omissions.

Q. What are end of lease charges?

A. Customers are not charged at end of lease for any refurbishment that arises from normal wear and tear.

End-of lease charges occur when the vehicle, its equipment or accessories are not used, maintained or looked after as originally agreed at the start of the lease. The charges compensate the leasing company for the cost of rectifying damage or missing items such as keys or service history.
